Welcome to Humidor Guitars.
What is a cigar box guitar? Many people have never heard of them, seen them, or heard them being played. But, these instruments are part of the cornerstone of American blues music dating back to the late 1800s.
During the late 1800s, impoverished people, often slaves, wanted instruments, but could not afford a factory made guitar, so they improvised with an empty cigar box, a stick and some string or wire. The cigar box guitar was born.

I have had a few people say that they did not get an email reply from me. I managed to contact one of these folks by phone, and we discovered that my email response wound up in his spam folder.
I get my email on my phone, and usually respond very quickly, and I seldom take longer than a day to get back to someone.
So, if you send me an email and you don’t see a reply, please make sure you check your spam or junk mail folder to make sure it didn’t get filtered by accident.

The Cuban Beauty guitar is complete and up for sale!

The Cuban Beauty is a one off guitar, with custom artwork by Cuban-American artist Daysi Rodriguez. This guitar has a maple neck topped by a red oak fingerboard and a Corian nut. The action is super low, perfect for finger playing but not for slide.
It is a three string model in a 24″ scale, and is equipped with a piezo pickup for use with an amplifier.
The artwork is covered with a layer of acrylic, possibly modge podge or decoupage. As such, it has dampened the acoustic abilities of the lid somewhat, so that it has a treble sound to it, similar to a banjo. If you are looking for a deep baritone sound, this ain’t it. It does sound better through an amp, and an effects pedal would make it sound even better.
This guitar is offered for sale for $200 USD, with $20 shipping in the lower 48 states.

My CBGs have been flying out the door, which makes it difficult to keep instruments in stock. If you don’t see any for sale on this site, it doesn’t mean that none are available.
If you like what you see, please feel free to use the Contact form and let me know you are interested.
I can build to suit if you like. I can make 3 or 4 string models, fretted or fretless, right or left handed, and might be able to accommodate a request for a specific box, or box type, color etc. It depends on availability.
